Wrinkly Prunes!

Lunch in Buena Vista at Jan's Family Restaurant was the perfect spot for the 7 of us to recharge! Quaint and quiet!

Then, time for hot springing it part 2! This time it's the upper pool and the waterside! Special thanks to Cousin I taking J2 and J3 on the waterslide a billion times! And man, that was quite a hike up to the top! The setting is so gorgeous! You can't beat being in water on a hot day in the mountains! By the time we left the upper pool (only because it was closing) and took one last dip into the springs in Chalk Creek we were all wrinkly old prunes!!!!

Time to trek back to Manitou! The ride back seemed so much quicker and it was! Saw some antelope, deer, cattle, horses, hawks and a poor dead badger :( we loved the cow-horse and the 3 beautiful brown horses on the other side of the road flirting with her! Made for some good chuckles on the walkie talkies!!!! I can't express enough how much the 3J's loved the radio communication! That's my Cousin I: always thinking of cool stuff!

By the time we got back to our home base we were all exhausted, yet we still had to tackle the Driveway!!!!!! Guess what? It was now dark and getting up the driveway in the dark is a nightmare every time- more tears, more getting out of the car, and this time we had to remove the groceries from the trunk which we picked up on the way home from the springs!!! Yes, the groceries were weighing this dinky car down!!! Picture this: it's dark and the kids keep thinking a bear is going to attack us so add that onto of wheels spinning and it's chaos! Poor D needs an Advil every time we come home! See why we only leave once a day and if you forget something you are just plain out of luck!!
