Mani-tour!

Tuesday, August 16th time for the tour of Manitou Springs at the base of Pikes Peak! What a cool, artsy town with the friendliest downtown! Shop after shop! We were so lucky to have a personal tour of Manitou by our very own Cousin I!!!

Manitou has the most unique penny arcade full of old games! The kids has a ball using pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters! Remember the little horse rides they used to have outside of Kmarts? (at least they did in Green Bay) well they must have had every ride ever made from helicopters to frogs to horses to bulldozers to race cars to merry go rounds...you get the picture right? This was a blast for all of us! We can't forget to mention the cymbal clanging monkey and the fortune tellers! (have you seen that Wizards of Waverly Place episode? The kids did it want to try it! Ahh, the power of tv!) We all got smoked by Cousin I on the horse derby race and that is the one game I usually win on!!! Oh, the time passed quickly in the arcade!

Manitou Springs is known for their springs, duh! So we stopped at each spring for a taste of the waters. Quite a variety of tastes! And each spring was so different! Fun to picture people enjoying the springs in the olden days.

Dream on...but we found one old building that was for sale with rights to a spring. Wheels
began turning as we planned future business ideas! Ah, I'd only we won the lottery! We'd definitely have a home here in the Springs! Dream on!

geocaching...we only found one and it was the tiniest one so far! We have to do more
geocaching on this trip! The days are flying by! :(

MSFD: Manitou Springs Fire Department...Cousin I gave us the grand tour! We all tried on the fire gear and decided that firefighters have to be super strong and tough! We don't know how
they manage on all these tiny steep roads but they do!

A delicious cookout was enjoyed at my Aunt and Uncles home! Thanks guys!!! It was so nice to see Cousin G2 and his dog Chance and Cousin I and K. Lotsa laughs during dinner and good
memories! Even had an art lesson from Cousin I as the Wiscnosinites all learned how to make paintbrushes out of the yucca plant! Artist J1 even painted a
picture of Pikes Peak! Think she could sell that downtown?!! Make a few bucks for a t-shirt!! I think so!

Oh no, getting late, we should head back before dark to tackle that driveway again. Too late, this time we have a huge storm approaching! Then, just like that, the longest and largest lightning strike we've ever seen lights up across Pikes Peak! Scared the you know what out of us!! Then the rain comes, now we have wet roads on our adventure up the mountain!!! Believe it or not, but it only took us one time to get up to our house this time. But whenever our GPS says turn leet on Moussa Road the Froggy Five start to get tense! So even though we made it up there were still tears this time due to the lightning, the thunder, and the hard rain that was coming down! Make a run for it! No matter how fast we could run we were still drenched!!! Close the door and yay, we are home!!! Time to cozy up with some warm jammies and a glamour and play Phase 10. Another successful adventure!
