Colorado Rocky Mountain High

It's Sunday, August 14th and Time for the annual Koel family vacation! Let's see, last year we ventured East on our 1st road trip so this year it was time to head West! Ever since I booked the flight I've been singin' with John Denver....and I'm still singing it :)

After 2 hours of sleep (J1 and I were at her pom competition weekend in Chicago till late Saturday night) we woke the kids up early to fly to Denver for our 6 a.m. Flight. Who thought a 6 a.m. Flight was a good idea. Oh, yeah, that was me :) Well, luckily our kids are troopers even though they are not early birds, they rolled out of bed without a problem and with sleepy eyes we headed to the airport!

Our adventure begins at the airport because every little part of an airport is intriguing to little boys! And adults too, especially if it's a vacation and not a business trip, right D?!? From the moving sidewalk, the luggage drop-offs and all the action outside as the workers loaded up the planes to the jets taking off and landing entertained us all! I have to say this was our easiest flight by far. The 3 J's are definitely getting older because they each rolled their own luggage which means that D and I didn't look like crazy bag people that could barely walk! And....we are down to bringing only one booster seat! Whew! Next comes one carry-on per person and we are traveling light! Easy schmeezy!

Flight was perfect! J3 and I took a walk to the bathroom for our "mini field trip" and in just over 2 hours we landed in Denver! All luggage was accounted for and rental car pick-up was smooth....... Let this adventure of The Froggy Five begin!
